Job Description:
Schedule: Full Time Weekdays only, No Holidays
Hours to be discussed during interview
Screens and assists incoming phone calls and visitors to ensure appropriate efficient routing within the department and hospital. Oversees prompt distribution of treatment plans of care and status and discharge reports to physician offices, insurance companies, and other entities as required. Meets or exceeds accuracy standard and scheduling goal as set by the department. Assists clinical staff with patient care, carrying out assigned activities/duties. Other duties as assigned. Greets and assists all customers in a helpful and courteous manner while providing exemplary customer service. Anticipates and responds to inquiries and needs. Registers patients for all services, ensuring patient demographics and account information are appropriate for the patient account type as determined by the visit. Explains authorizations, pre-certifications, and benefit memos on patient accounts to ensure expeditious billing and protect the financial standing of the facility. Ensures the integrity of patient accounts by working error reports, entering accurate data, and documenting all attempts to collect or obtain missing documentation. Supports the department by facilitating patient assignments and maintaining appropriate supplies. Performs eligibility and benefits verification and re-verification applicable to the patient visits, ensuring authorizations and pre-certifications are accurate to avoid rejections or denials. Escalates complaints or variances to leadership as appropriate.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office. • '- Must be able to read, write, and speak conversational English.
